VÄVDA DUKAR
DACRON
Dacronduk är en vävd segelduk, gjord av
polyesterfibrer.
segel i vävd segelduk, då i sk varporienterad vävd duk, men även
tillverkade i vävda dukar.
( Läs mer i Fiber
Guiden)

All Purpose - Blade (Finns i vikterna 280,320,360,410)
All Purpose - Blade styles are engineered to provide good
fill strength and at the same time excellent bias stretch resistance.
Performance oriented All Purpose fabrics have to fulfill two demands: They
must enable sails to hold their shape over a wide wind range and they must
achieve a long durability. Almost any fabric with a sufficient amount of
resin can resist loads over a short period of time, but if the resin is not
supported by the right construction, it will quickly break down and the
cloth will stretch permanently. The ability to resist long term loads comes
from the construction of the woven cloth in close harmony with the resin’s
ability to reinforce

HYDRA NET®
"Vävd Dacronduk med invävda spectrafiber "
(Finns i vikterna 200,270,320,350,380,480)
70% of the world sailcloth market today is woven polyester. Since the
seventies laminates have been developed significantly, but it has taken many
years before a break through came in woven cloth.
Now HYDRA NET®
is here offering several advantages to the cruising sailor. HYDRA NET®
is not designed to give less stretch for the same weight. It is designed to
give long-term shape retention. It is very important to use the same weight
HYDRA NET®
as you would in All Purpose styles. When comparing a HYDRA NET®
graph with an All Purpose graph you will find it similar at low loads. But
at very high loads on the fill and warp there is a considerable difference
to notice.
While sailing on flat water in normal breeze, sails will not be loaded up
to these high loads.
However, sails see very high shock loads when handled, when fluttered,
during hoisting and lowering, when reefed, when tacking and jibing and also
simply when sails are folded.
The patented HYDRA NET®
of Dyneema®
helps absorbing and spreading these loads thus extending the life of the
sail.
Features of HYDRA NET®
•
accept higher loads at the same weight
•
enhanced profile durability
•
comfortable handling
•
higher flex strength
•
easier to store
•
better durability
•
reduced mildew problems |

LAMINAT DUKAR.
spectra. Dessa trådar bestämmer namnet på duken.

FLEX-Line
"Crosscut
laminat"
DIMENSION-POLYANT’s FLEX line stands for
“Fill Laminate Extra X”. FLEX is especially suited to racing sails.
Foundations of all FLEX laminate constructions are strong fill and warp
yarns. Additional 20° and 30° “double X” patterns from the fill absorb
multiple load situations. Thanks to its novel construction, FLEX handles
strain in six different directions, resulting in unprecedented shape
retention characteristics. In addition to primary loads, off-angle loads
in clew, head and tack areas, mid leech and luff are catered for. FLEX
will also absorb those dynamic loads that occur during sailing and
enables excellent shape control. FLEX styles are crosscut fabrics and
available with several fibre densities which can be combined in a sail
in accordance with the expected load situation. FLEX’s tight-knit fibre
matrix guarantees long performance life and superior durability. |

DIMENSION-POLYANT Polyester black X-Ply line has been created by
inserting a 6° black polyester X-Ply yarn into a warp oriented scrim of
high tenacity poly-ester. It is available in both a racing scrim version
with film on both sides and a taffeta version where we have laminated a
super lightweight taffeta on one side for extra durability. In this
logical line we have increased the range of applications while still
assuring superior shape holding characteristics. The X-Ply Line is very
suitable for applications as different as genoas, mainsails and
front-end materials. |

As a complement to our successful polyester based PX Line
DIMENSION-POLYANT introduced PEN versions of these fabrics. These styles
utilize the same constructions as the PX versions with one exception -
PEN fiber is used in the warp and fill direction PEN has a higher
modulus than polyester and these fabrics exhibit approximately 30 - 40%
lower stretch than their polyester equivalents. The PE Line of fabric is
the ideal choice for sails where low stretch is a top priority and
aramid based fabrics cannot be used. The PE fabrics are produced
utilizing our patented X-Ply technique assuring sailmakers of reliable
performance and the highest quality lamination on the sailcloth market.
As further improvement the X -Ply contains PEN fibers now. |

X-Tech Aluma Shield
In this new line of racing laminates we combine several exclusive
production technologies. Our new developed Ti-Tex treatment eliminates
any low load crimp and provides totally linear loading performance. The
new Aluma Shield adhesive additive protects the Aramid fibres against UV
rays.

Code Zero Laminates
Code Zero sails were initially developed for
offshore racing but are now gaining popularity in club and buoys racing.
A Code Zero sail is similar to an asymmetric spinnaker but flatter in
shape and used like a light area genoa. Conventional spinnaker fabrics
have insufficient stretch resistance to work in these applications.
Therefore Dimension-Polyant has developed a special lightweight laminate
line to match the requirements. |

It’s all about Usability
Sailors and Sailmakers have long recognised the performance benefits of
lighter weight spinnakers, but have had to pay the price in terms of reduced
strength and poor shape retention. Essentially this excluded the majority of
sailors from using the latest fabrics.
AIRX is
Different
The
design brief was to develop fabrics of comparable weight but ground breaking
performance. Fabrics that would allow Grand Prix sailors to use lighter
sails higher up the wind range, cruising sailors to have spinnakers that
would last longer and club racers to use lightweight sails that are far less
likely to blow out or tear.
The Latest Technology
The latest weaving and finishing technology has been utilised in an
exhaustive development program. First, new and unique constructions were
designed by Bainbridge fabric engineers. High quality nylon yarns were then
selected for weaving on state of the art looms. Finally, a new process was
developed to provide a water repellent, zero porosity, stable and durable
finish.
Comparisons
Compared to comparable weight products, all AIRX fabric features class
leading strength and performance. So whatever the type of sailing you enjoy
and whatever it is you are looking for from your spinnaker, lighter weight,
better stability or greater strength, AIRX will make you a better sail.
The true finished weight of sailcloth is measured in grams/m2 or Sailmakers
ounces/yard. More often sailmakers and sailors quote a generic weight such
as 0.75oz. Historically this is derived from the cloth weight before it goes
through a finishing process. Nowadays it is used to describe a generic group
of similar finished weight products and does not actually correspond to a
specific cloth weight. In practice the variation from the lightest to the
heaviest product in a generic weight group makes almost no difference to
performance. If your class rules define a minimum weight your sailmaker will
know the precise finished weight of all AIRX products.
A new performance envelope has been opened for the sailor and Sailmaker to
explore. So outstanding is the performance and strength of the lightest AIRX
fabrics, the rule book on the use of generic 0.4oz spinnakers has been
thrown away.
Insisting on AIRX-500N will allow Grand Prix sailors to carry generic 0.4oz
spinnakers higher up the wind range and will give confidence to many Club
Racers, that they too can exploit the benefits of ultra lightweight
spinnakers.

A softer version of AIRX-500N. The unique finish reduces the ‘bounce’
experienced with light runners/VMG type sails in down-range, choppy
conditions.

With performance and strength that shames many generic 0.75oz products,
AIRX-600N is ideal for medium wind range spinnakers despite being classed as
a generic 0.5oz.
Insisting on AIRX-600N provides 0.5oz performance in reaching spinnakers and
running sails capable of withstanding unprecedented wind strengths.

Taking the successful AIRX-600N construction and adding Silicone to the
finish has resulted in the ultimate high slip spinnaker fabric. The AIRX
manufacturing process has created a fabric with excellent stability compared
to that normally associated with this type of product. The Silcone maximizes
water repellency and reduces surface friction, making for easier gybing of
asymmetrics, easier hoists and easier drops from spinnaker bags and chutes.

Specifically designed for classes with a 40gsm minimum weight rule,
AIRX-650N has already proven to be a winning fabric in classes such as
Melges 24, Soling, J24 and J22.

A new performance envelope has been opened for the sailor and Sailmaker to
explore. So outstanding is the performance and strength of the lightest AIRX
fabrics, the rule book on the use of generic 0.4oz spinnakers has been
thrown away.
As a
generic 0.75oz product, AIRX-700N sets new standards in a market that
demands excellence in a variety of applications, from Grand Prix racers
looking for ultimate performance, to cruising sailors expecting outstanding
durability. AIRX-700N delivers both, in class leading quantities.

A high performance 1.5oz spinnaker cloth designed to be used in composite
constructions with AIRX-700N or for heavy reachers and runners on yachts
over 45ft. AIRX-900N has already been confirmed by independent tests as the
best product available in this weight range.

Vävda dacrondukar från Bainbridge.
The HSX range of extra high
sley premium sailcloth is the result of an extensive ‘no-compromise’
research program and we believe is the best woven sailcloth available today.
All HSX products feature:
- High Sley Count: This
refers to the total amount of fiber in the fabric. More fiber provides
more strength.
- Super tight weave: The
closer the fibers are woven the more stable the weave providing less bias
stretch, better stretch resistance and longer life
- High tenacity fibers:
Used in all HSX products, high tenacity fibers are stonger and stretch
less than the medium tenacity used in many sailcloths.
- Durable Melamine
impregnated finish.
- Good UV resistance.
HSX products are designed
the more discerning cruising and racing sailor who appreciated the increase
in performance that sails made from these fabrics will deliver.
HSX dacron duk från Bainbridge.
HSX fabrics use a highly
unbalanced construction of high tenacity yarns to improve resistance to
stretch. They are the optimum woven fabric for performance orientated
mainsails and genoa’s in all cruising applications and on racing yachts
where class rules or cost prohibits the use of laminates. They are
particularly well suited for use in conjunction with a full batten sail
system. The fabric is woven from large denier fill yarns that resist stretch
from vertical loads in the sail. A high density of smaller denier warp yarns
resist the far lower loads across the sail. A further benefit of this type
of construction, in the fight to resist stretch, is that much of the crimp
in the yarn is forced into the weaker warp fibres. This reduces the initial
stretch from the primary load direction.
A further way to optimise
performance of High Aspect and HSX sails is to use a full batten system such
as Bainbridge International’s Sailman 4000 or 5000 range. Full length
battens help to maintain the design shape of the sail, so reducing off
threadline loads, and reducing flogging.
OCEAN. Prisvärd crusing
duk från Bainbridge.
The new Ocean Sailcloth
range of US and European styles are the best general purpose products we
have ever made. The combination of carefully researched constructions, new
manufacturing techniques and competitive prices makes these products
outstanding value. This combination provides the inshore and coastal
yachtsman with quality sails that will deliver excellent performance and
value.
- Durable Melamine finish
to stabilise weave
- Carefully selected top
quality yarns
- Designed range of weights
and different constructions to optimise performance and value in target
applications
- Good UV resistance
- Suitable for a variety of
applications for yachts from 20 to 50 ft (6 to 15m)
Bainbridge International’s
Ocean range of fabrics are the choice of sailmakers world-wide who wish to
offer customers economically priced sails built from quality cloth.
Make no mistake; Ocean is
not the cheapest sailcloth available to your Sailmaker. It is a premium
cruising sailcloth designed for the sailor who knows that a small increase
in price is a worthwhile investment. All Ocean styles have been optimised
for value by careful attention to yarn selection, construction and finishing,
not by cost cutting. They feature an ultra tight weave and durable finish
compared to some cheaper cloth where a more open weave is stabilised by an
increased impregnation. These products will give similar initial
performance, but as the finish breaks down will quickly loose their shape
and will age quickly compared to your Ocean sail.
Ocean fabrics are ideal for
applications from quality OEM production sails, to offshore cruising
inventories and will provide many seasons of reliable performance.
